What's new in EdPotential
Terms 1–3, 2026
Less time digging through spreadsheets, more time with the students who need you.
Here's everything that's live at the start of Term 4.
NCEA & course reporting
See how your courses really stack up
Course and class reports now do much more of the heavy lifting.
Course report updates
Single-year course reports now include:
Comparison to national results, so you can see your course alongside schools across the country
Pass rates
Credit counts
GPA
Student list for everyone in the course
Multi-year course report updates
Track a course across years to spot trends early. Multi-year course reports now show:
Comparison to national results
Grade counts over time
GPA results over time
Credit counts over time
Pass rates over time
Course results by gender, ethnicity or class
Course results can now be split by gender, ethnicity or class in both single-year and multi-year course reports. Tick the split you want at the top of the Course Results panel.
NCEA Overview in class & course reports
Class and course reports now include an NCEA Overview. It has the same filters and columns as NCEA Reporting, but shows only the students enrolled in that class or course.
Literacy & numeracy achievement
See each student's progress towards the literacy and numeracy requirements right alongside their NCEA achievement in the class or course.
Attendance
Spot attendance concerns sooner
Stepped Attendance Response (STAR)
New STAR filters show the proportion of students at each stage (Good, Worrying, Concerning, Very Concerning) in each term over time.
You can also filter to see exactly which students are at a selected stage.
Attendance by year level
The Cohort Attendance Report now includes a table of attendance by year level, broken down by gender and ethnicity.
Half-day attendance kept up to date
KAMAR stopped sending half-day attendance data in mid-June. EdPotential now calculates these values itself, so all half-day attendance charts and tables stay current. There's nothing you need to do.
Student data from KAMAR
A fuller picture of every student
Data sharing options made visible
KAMAR now lets parents and caregivers, and students over 16, choose what data is shared with third-party providers like EdPotential. You can now see which students aren't sharing all their data:
KAMAR Data Sharing filter in Student Reporting
Warning flag on those students in class and course reports
Effort grades
Effort grades entered in the Attendance section of KAMAR now come through via KAMAR Directory Services and appear in student reports.
Pastoral data
Summarised pastoral data now comes through from KAMAR Directory Services and can be displayed in student reports, showing positive and negative events.
SMART assessment results
New SMART assessment results are now displayed, with students grouped by level in class reports.
Classes & teachers
Built for shared teaching
Multiple teachers per class
Classes can now have more than one teacher. Each teacher sees their shared classes in My Classes.
