Course Reports
In your course reports you may compare results in your course to national results in the same standards.
To access a course report
Select the second tab Reporting
Select the third sub-tab Course
Click on your faculty and follow the path to your course
A comparison with national results is displayed in the second chart. Use the filters to select the standards compared, to break results down by gender or ethnicity or to choose a specific EQI band or group to compare to.
Explore the Data
In Explore the Data you may compare results for:
A specific Achievement Standard
Unit standards.
Certificates (for Levels 1, 2 and 3 and for university entrance).
Scholarship results.
Comparing an Achievement Standard against national results
Note: If you have already run a data presentation, click clear assessment selection to begin again.
Navigate to the Explore the Data tab.
From the Present the data option, click browse (located underneath What do you want to plot?).
Select the required Qualification (e.g. NCEA).
Select the required Qualification Level (e.g. NCEA L1).
Select the Subject (e.g. Accounting).
Select the Standard (e.g. 90976 - Accounting 1.1 - Demonstrate understanding of accounting concepts for small entities).
Select the Results required (e.g. Grade).
Click ok and select your Years of interest (e.g. 2025). A chart will then be automatically generated.
You can select a single year here instead of multiple years if you wish.
Underneath the clear assessment selection option is Compare national. Click the drop down box and select your chosen EQI band, EQI group or, if prior to 2023, decile.
An additional chart will be automatically generated within the initial chart displaying national results for all schools in the selected EQI band, EQI group or decile for the same assessment standard.
Move your cursor over the bars of the chart to view full details of the sample.
As with almost all charts on EdPotential, display the data horizontally or stacked by selecting the drop down menu in the upper right hand side of the chart.
