Data Sharing From KAMAR

KAMAR have made changes so that parents/caregivers and students over 16 may choose what data is shared with third party providers such as EdPotential. The three types of data shared by KAMAR with EdPotential, and the options available to caregivers and students, are listed below

  1. Details: All, Required Only, None
  2. Photos: All, None
  3. Other: All, None

When KAMAR recognises a third party provider as transferring and storing all school data within Australia and New Zealand, the option to not send any details is no longer present. It is still possible, however, for caregivers and students to choose to send no Other data, which includes assessment and attendance data.

Our new subdomain, kamar.goedpotential.com, is now correctly recognised by KAMAR Directory Services as transferring and storing all school data within Australia and New Zealand. We strongly urge you to change the address of your EdPotential application in KAMAR Directory Services . Doing so will disable the full student opt-out option and will ensure we receive the required student details for all currently enrolled students. Required details include class enrolments so we will be able to identify reports affected by students not sharing their data.

Given that photos are not sent to EdPotential, the options for caregivers and students after you make this requested change will become

  1. Details: All, Required Only
  2. Other: All, None

Please follow the simple steps in this guide to update the address in your KAMAR Directory Services immediately.

  1. Go to Setup > Server > Directory Services

  1. Disable the service by deselecting Check and Enable
  2. Change the Address to kamar.goedpotential.com/v3
  3. Select Check and Enable

  1. On the next day, after the overnight sync has occurred, return to Directory Services and select Run Now and OK

  1. Go to Data Sharing Service

  1. Check whether EdPotential is still visible in this tab

If it remains visible you may choose to deselect Can Opt Out of Sharing Personal Details or add a comment which will be visible to parents/caregivers and students over 16. For example:

Your teachers use EdPotential to monitor and analyse assessment results and attendance, enabling them to complete required reporting efficiently. EdPotential meets the highest security and privacy standards available.

Notify us at [email protected] once you've completed these steps and we'll check the student data sharing flags which come through over the next day or so.

You'll be able to view student data sharing flags yourself in the new KAMAR Data Sharing filter in Student Reporting. Filter for Details set to Required Only or Other set to No to view students for whom we are not receiving all data.
