reporting and search

The student's report will open beneath the student list. You'll find the Attendance Report beneath the Student Details section.

The Attendance Report consists of four parts, which we'll cover below.

The time period you select determines the time period for the first three parts of the report.

Part 1: STAR attendance

The attendance data visible is dependant on the time period selected:

  • If Last month is selected, no STAR attendance is visible, as STAR data relates to attendance over a term.
  • If Latest term is selected, the STAR stage for the most recent term is shown. Clicking on Show next steps shows the next steps recommended by the Ministry for teachers. Parent users will be shown the Ministry's next steps for parents while student users will not be shown any next steps.

  • If This year, Last year or All time are selected, the STAR stage at each term is displayed in a graph.

Part 2: Attendance to date

The pie chart gives the percentage of timetabled periods attended within the time period you have selected in Part 1.

Part 3: Attendance by timetabled periods

The table gives a breakdown of the number of entries for each attendance code. The percentages and counts that are calculated and shown here reflect the same time period that is chosen in Part 1

The period count can be added to the table by clicking on Show counts.

Part 4: Attendance over time

You may choose to show attendance by day, week or month by clicking on the appropriate tab.

The percentages on this chart correlate to the half day attendance rates used by the Ministry of Education. The line at 90% indicates the level the MoE specifies to be regular attendance.
