Viewing a cohort's NCEA progress over time
EdPotential enables you to track a year level's performance over several years using the level's GPA. Read on to learn how!
- Once you have logged in, navigate to the Explore the Data tab.
- Select the Present the data option, and click Browse (located underneath What do you want to plot?).
- Select the required Qualification (e.g. NCEA).
- Select the required Qualification Level (e.g. NCEA L1).
- Select the required Overall Total (e.g. L1 GPA).
- Click ok, but don't select a year of interest just yet!
- Click Browse again, and follow the same steps but for a different level:
- Select the required Qualification (e.g. NCEA).
- Select the required Qualification Level (e.g. NCEA L2).
- Select the required Overall Total (e.g. L2 GPA).
- Repeat the process by clicking Browse once more, and selecting a different level (e.g. NCEA L3 GPA).
- Click out of the popup, and underneath the heading And I’d like to plot these select Starting from a year.
- Underneath the title Which year? Select your required year (e.g. 2020). A chart will then be automatically generated.
Move your cursor over any part of the chart to view full details of the sample.
To complete this process, you must have at least three consecutive years of data loaded for your school.
You may also refine the results further by adding filters through the Refine the data tab.
