Comparing results across the four PAT tests in Year 6 - EdPotential

This article outlines how you can compare a cohort's PAT results for a year. Let's explore!

  1. Navigate to the Explore the data tab, and click Present the data.
  2. Click Browse (situated underneath What do you want to plot?), and select your options:
    1. Select the required Qualification (e.g. PAT).
    2. Select the required Type (e.g. Reading Comprehension).
    3. Select the required Level (e.g. Year 6).
    4. Select the required Syllabus (e.g. 6PATC - Year 6 Reading Comprehension).
    5. Select the required Results (e.g. Scaled Score).
  3. Click Ok, but don't select a year just yet!

  1. Next, repeat Steps 1-3 for each of the three remaining PAT’s. You'll need to change the Type and Syllabus to match the other tests. For example:
    1. Select the required Qualification (e.g. PAT)
    2. Select the required Type (e.g. Reading Vocabulary)
    3. Select the required Level (e.g. Year 6)
    4. Select the required Syllabus (e.g. 6PATV - Year 6 Reading Vocabulary)
    5. Select the required Results (e.g. Scaled Score).
  2. Once you've selected all four tests, click Ok.
  3. Underneath the heading Which year? select the required year to compare (e.g. 2021).
  4. A chart showing multiple box and whisker plots with the results from the four PAT’s in that year will now be produced.

Move your cursor over the chart to view details of the sample.
