EdPotential Troubleshooting

This article covers some of the most common issues that users encounter.

Why can't I log in to EdPotential today?

If you have previously logged in to EdPotential but cannot today, there may be an issue with your browser. A quick fix to test if this is the issue is to clear your browsing cache.

To do this:

  1. With the EdPotential site open in your browser, clear your cache:
    1. On Windows, press CTRL + Shift + R
    2. On Mac, press Command + Shift + R
  2. Open a new tab and log in to EdPotential as normal.

If this does not resolve the issue and you still cannot log in, please get in touch with us.

What should I do if my chart doesn’t make sense?
  1. Check that you have de-selected any previous filters that you may have applied on the 
    1. Click on the filters you originally selected to deselect them. This will ensure all student data is made available for your inquiry – not just a smaller, filtered group of students.
  2. Check that you are working with the correct assessment data. From the Present the data screen, click on clear assessment selection to clear all previous selections and begin again.
Why is the EdPotential website not displaying correctly?
  1. It may be that your browser is out of date! EdPotential has been designed to run on the latest version of Google Chrome. If your browser is older and EdPotential is not displaying correctly, you may need to update your browser. Please contact your EdPotential administrator for help.
  2. Your cache may need clearing. To do so press Ctrl-Shift-R (or Command-Shift-R on a Mac).
Why is the data on EdPotential not the same as what is on KAMAR?

You may find a discrepancy between the assessment results your students have on KAMAR, and those displayed on EdPotential. 

There are a number of possible reasons for this. These reasons and solutions are listed below:

A student’s assessment result has yet to be “double ticked” in KAMAR.

KAMAR only sends EdPotential confirmed results.
Check the assessment results in your KAMAR markbook are published. Check the assessment results in your KAMAR markbook are published.
KAMAR is only sending results overnight, so results match on KAMAR and on EdPotential the day after entry in KAMAR.
Wait until tomorrow and check whether the results are then on EdPotential.

If they are, you’ll know this was the reason. 
In order to have results come through from KAMAR as soon as they are published, select Event Updates in the KAMAR Directory Services setup.

KAMAR has stopped sending the daily update. Check with your EdPotential administrator.  Check whether Check and enable is ticked in KAMAR Directory Services.

An exclamation mark indicates an error has occurred, and error details will be in the server logs. 
Where can I get help from?

In the first instance, you should always contact your EdPotential administrator. If they are unable to help you, they (your administrator) will notify EdPotential of your issue and communicate the appropriate solution(s) to you.
